Minority Report - Analysis of camerawork

Updated: Sep 29, 2023

Here is my analysis of how different camera shots have been used in Minority Report (2002). I will be applying terminology learnt in lessons:

Birds eye view - Unusual, non-human angle, makes the precogs seem very unordinary, just like the camera angle.

Close up - Shows emotions more closely, so the viewer can get an understanding of what's going and can sense Tom Cruise's confusion in the midst of a very fast paced scene.

Over the shoulder shot - Gives more of a POV for the character.

Low angle - Makes Tom Cruise seem more dominant in contrast with Howard, as he is perceived as weak in this current moment.
